The new European styled kitchen allows one to indulge in gourmet cooking. A full size refrigerator and freezer make food prep a breeze. If there is anything special you need in the kitchen let us know so we can have it there for you upon arrival.
The original wood accordion wall separates the living/lounge area from the bedroom. It’s working and a great way to separate the apartment when needed.
The bedroom is furnished with an extremely comfortable king-sized Case Study bed with all white 100% cotton linens, European duvet, and king size pillows. Of course, the duvet covers are washed after each stay so they are fresh for you. Black out drapes guarantee a restful night of sleep with complete privacy.
The bedroom opens to a stunning private patio accessed through expansive 12 foot sliding doors with screens.
The patio features a comfortable couch and chairs, a small dining table and an incredible concrete fire bowl ready for you to enjoy. The commercial gas grill is always clean and ready to use.
The newly renovated bathroom features Ann Sacks tile and a European shower panel and is accented with original artwork. Generous toiletries make sure you will have what you need. Towels and wash cloths are 100% white cotton.

The Desert Star was one of the best Airbnbs we have ever stayed at. It was stylish and tasteful and the bed was very comfortable. The pool was clean and relaxing, and the environment was quiet for our stay. We loved the private back patio and enjoyed using the fire pit in the evening. This is a 5-star place and we will absolutely stay here again next time we’re in Palm Springs.

I hesitate to even write a public review because now that we’ve found The Desert Star, we always want to find a room to come back. Richard and Debra’s oasis here completely surpassed our expectations: the room (and whole complex) is stylishly appointed and impeccably clean, the pool is salt water (not chlorine), and warm! And even having access to our own little back yard was a dream. Because there was a well-equipped kitchen as well, we were able to cook and even barbecue our own meals, and really have time to ourselves. We can’t wait to return one day. This place really makes the Palm Springs experience; why would we ever go to a “regular,” larger hotel now?

We loved our stay at the Desert Star. Richard is a host of the highest order— he remedied errors I made on our reservation, he was prompt to respond by text, and even found my missing wallet. Aside from the Desert Star’s amazing host, our unit was immaculately clean, thoughtfully furnished, and two steps from the pool. We found our stay so relaxing and can’t wait to return.
